I approach therapy as a unique form of collaborative exploration, one that opens new
ways to experience and think about ourselves. You might be seeking relief from anxiety
or from anguish, or perhaps you feel stuck in patterns of behavior or relationships.
Maybe you feel overwhelmed by your desires, or maybe you feel disconnected from
your life and wonder how you arrived at this point. Whatever challenges you are facing,
we will create a unique space to explore them and look for possibilities to change.
My style is warm and direct, and stems from a place of curiosity and acceptance. I work from a psychodynamic perspective, which means that we will explore the roots of old patterns and beliefs so that we can loosen their hold on the present. We might examine how formative experiences, attachments, and traumas continue to shape your life and relationships. We will try to put these complex experiences into words and narratives, so that you can begin to understand them. Through self-awareness and insight, you can find relief from psychological pain and the capacity to experience the richness of life, with all its joys and sorrows.together. I understand that we live in a world full of oppressive systems, and to address our own identities and relationships, we must also address those systems. I have experience working across differences of race, age, class, and gender, and am LGBTQIA+ affirming. I enjoy working with people exploring creativity, identity, and their sense of self. |
