Like many people, you may be struggling to navigate the world of sex, sexuality, and relationships. It can feel overwhelming to find a partner, maintain clear communication, or manage conflicting sex drives. Also, let’s face it the world can sometimes be A LOT and you might need someone to help you process it.
I’m Alan, a queer, Latino therapist. I am passionate about working within the LGBTQ+ community. Being queer in today’s world can be TOUGH, and constantly having to explain your identity to your therapist doesn’t make it any easier. I believe each person deserves a unique approach tailored to their needs and experience. We’ll start by having a conversation, I’ll get to know you, and we’ll collaborate on a plan that best suits your goals. I take a relational approach to my work with clients. Sessions together may incorporate mindfulness, storytelling, trauma work, and a range of other techniques. As an artist, I also want to know about what you’re reading and watching. The art we consume and how we relate to it can provide a hidden look into ourselves. I come in with an open mind, ready to listen, validate, and challenge or push where necessary. Therapy isn't easy. If it was, everyone would do it. There will be challenges and laughter, I'll be here with you every step of the way. I received my MSW from NYU Silver School of Social Work and my BFA in Drama and Psychology from NYU. |
